About 75 years ago today, India got freedom from the oppressive Firangi rule of two hundred years. Since 75 years is a long time; During this we also made many achievements – we have returned to the glory of the past from the hungry, naked, weary country left by the British. Apart from this, we also got some wounds during this – Indo-China war of 1962, Indo-Pakistani war of 1965 and Kargil war of 1971. In the same period, we also got one country liberated from the autocratic rule of Pakistan – Bangladesh. It is a coincidence that Bangladesh has completed 50 years of its liberation struggle in the year 2021 and India is entering 75 years of its independence next year.
Meanwhile, the country has made remarkable progress in the field of education. At the time of entering the 75th year of independence, about three-fourth of the population of our country is literate. This literate population has also been made financially literate by schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. The wonder of these schemes is that India has been able to make its way into the top economies of the world. India has registered remarkable progress from primary education to higher education – Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, institutions of national importance like IITs, IMMs etc. are bringing revolutionary changes in the educational environment of the country.
However, this education system has so far been mostly of a formal nature. Therefore, the present Modi government has taken several steps for structural change in this – Skill India campaign. Now the government has also arranged a new education policy in the country – National Education Policy, 2020. This education policy has been made innovation based and employable. Where education prepares human resources for the society, then employment is necessary to make that society dynamic. Governments have not done as much work on this issue as they were expected to do.
The government could not even emerge as a best employment provider because on the one hand the population of India continued to grow from decade to decade, on the other hand we did not even create professional skills based on professional demand. Apart from this, it is in our mindset that employment only means doing public sector jobs. Therefore, the government should also run public awareness in this direction so that the importance of employment in the country is judged by its quality rather than its provider. It is a matter of satisfaction that the government is also working in this direction – Startup India, Stand Up India and Mudra Scheme etc.
According to the intention of the present government, the trend of the public is now shifting from the job seeker to the employer. Whose hallmark is – 61000 startups and 38 unicorn companies registered in the country. The government has also arranged a single window system to reduce all the frills between the registration of an industry to its operation, which provides you all the solutions at one place.
A nationwide campaign has been started to awaken the spirit of self-entrepreneurship in the country – Self-reliant India Campaign. The importance of this campaign can be gauged from the fact that now all the ministries and their departments start it only after taking the coherence of any of their plans from the aspect of self-reliance. A part of this self-reliant India campaign is the Vocal for Local campaign where the locality of business is encouraged. Now the government should also give this mantra to the people of India that local is global and global is local so that a kind of confidence can be instilled in the new entrepreneurs about their product and they can brand it on the same lines. The culmination of all these efforts is to shift the Indian economy from an import-oriented economy to an export-oriented one.
Apart from education, employment, the major issue which is the security of the country. The governments of India did a lot of work on this front too, but the promptness and alertness shown by the present government was not seen during the tenure of any government. Whether to bring self-reliance in the defense sector or to increase vigil on the border; Revolutionary work has been done on every front. Even on the issue of border dispute with China, we did not back down but also gave a befitting reply to them. In response to the same Pakistan-produced terrorism, we broke business relations with them; Simultaneously, by carrying out successful surgical strikes in the part of Kashmir occupied by Pakistan, he also made them understand their situation.
On the security front itself, there is another point – digital security. The government has also done remarkable work in this direction. Not only did he strengthen the security establishments of his country by digital fencing, as well as with the help of campaigns like Digital India Campaign, a healthy digital environment was also created in India. Today, in the country where financial literacy has increased along with literacy, then the same country is now becoming digitally literate, which we can also see in the context of increasing online education in the country.
Overall we can say that the purpose with which we had established the new democratic process of the country and resolved to move forward with it; It has been done to a great extent. Since time is dynamic and according to the dynamics of time, new challenges and possibilities also emerge. In such a situation, as a patriot, we expect the policy-makers of the country, the general public, that they continue to guide the country by becoming allies among themselves so that the status of Jagatguru of our India can be restored.
